Tape casting, which is referred to as “doctor blading”, allows manufacturing thin sheets of any Titanium alloy.
We use a Titanium slurry that results in a very low content of interstitial atoms after sintering. Depending on how we sinter the green foils, we can produce both porous and dense sheets with high corrosion resistance and high electrical conductivity.
This technology is especially of interest since we can manufacture thin sheet of alloys like Ti6Al4V, that cannot be cold formed. The slurry can also be used to manufacture thin walled flat parts like blanks for deep drawing.
